I just had a fantastic time teaching my NYC Introduction to Composition Street Photography Workshop this past weekend with my lovely group of students.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A lot of people ask me: “Eric, don’t you ever get bored of teaching workshops?” I respond: “Never.”<\/p>\n

In-fact, I feel that teaching is what I am really suited for in life. I don’t think I am the best writer, but my passion for community-building and being around others is what brings\u00c2\u00a0me to life.<\/p>\n

We started the workshop learning about the fundamentals of composition in street photography<\/strong><\/a>, and asking one another: “Why do you take photos?” as an introductory ice-breaker.<\/p>\n

Often we ask other photographers: “What camera do you shoot with, what projects are you working on, where do you shoot?” But we never ask the why<\/em> of photography, and why<\/em> we are passionate about it.<\/p>\n

It was a bit chilly this weekend; but all the student pairs kept each other warm, and while working on composition in street photography, they built up their confidence.<\/p>\n

I am so proud of all the final student photos. We ruthlessly “killed our babies” together– see all the great photos below:<\/p>\n
