{"id":262303,"date":"2020-08-07T10:44:23","date_gmt":"2020-08-07T17:44:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/?p=262303"},"modified":"2020-08-07T10:45:02","modified_gmt":"2020-08-07T17:45:02","slug":"if-you-truly-care-for-a-certain-issue-you-must-use-your-real-face-your-real-identity-and-your-real-first-and-last-name","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2020\/08\/07\/if-you-truly-care-for-a-certain-issue-you-must-use-your-real-face-your-real-identity-and-your-real-first-and-last-name\/","title":{"rendered":"If You Truly Care for a Certain Issue, You Must Use Your Real Face, Your Real Identity, and Your Real First and Last Name"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My thought:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>There are a lot of anonymous letters being published on issues x, y, z and people are afraid of losing their jobs or whatever.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But &#8230; if one has a *<em>true<\/em>* belief in a certain cause, or truly cares &#8230; one would *<em>NOT<\/em>* do it anonymously. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or in other words:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Put no faith into anonymously published things. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why? Either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The anonymous letter is fake (the letter writer is pretending to be someone who they actually are not)<\/li><li>They are virtue-signaling their thoughts without real &#8216;skin in the game&#8217; (Nassim Taleb), and thus their opinion has lesser worth. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certainly if your opinion is like a life-or-death scenario (if you&#8217;re from North Korea or so), then anonymity is good. But if you&#8217;re just afraid of losing your job, economic livelihood &#8230; <strong>put your face and the name in the game.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My thought: There are a lot of anonymous letters being published on issues x, y, z and people are afraid of losing their jobs or whatever.
