A favorite of mine from his works is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seanleephoto.com\/STORIES\/SHAUNA\/1\/caption\" target=\"_blank\">Shauna<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0wherein he turned himself into woman for two years. The final work was turned into a great book that is quite moving, haunting, and will make you think about gender and how you relate to others. Although the reason I chose for this month&#8217;s portfolio find is because in his <a href=\"https:\/\/instagram.com\/puayyang\/\" target=\"_blank\">instagram account (@puayyang)<\/a>, he has been posting a lot of amazing street photography. His famous photo depicting the tragedy as a backdrop to a leisurely Brooklyn afternoon attracted controversy, described as \u00e2\u20ac\u0153shocking\u00e2\u20ac\u009d by Frank Rich of the New York Times for its apparent callousness. If you are from Madrid, there is an exhbit of his work at Fundacion Mapfre in Madrid until Nov. 29,2015.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.disphotic.com\/the-cash-cow-of-photography\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Cash Cow of Photography via Disphotic<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you are into joining competitions and other contests related to photography, you might want to check out this article.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s funny, because I hear so often that there is no money in photography, no budgets to pay for articles, or exhibitions, or jobs. And yet at the same time I see vast sums being spent on photography all around me, by collectors buying photographs, by hobbyists buying silly equipment, and by cash strapped professionals trying to give their work a leg up in a desperately competitive market, hoping that it will pay off down the line. Do the maths on most fee charging competitions and the take can seem pretty enormous. In 2014 there were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taylorwessing.com\/about-us\/corporate-social-responsibility\/national-portrait-gallery.html\" target=\"_blank\">reportedly<\/a> 4,193 submissions entered by 1,793 photographers to the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize. At a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npg.org.uk\/photoprize-application-form.php\" target=\"_blank\">current fee<\/a> of \u00c2\u00a327 per photograph that would suggest the prize raises something in the region of \u00c2\u00a3113,000 even before you tote up the ticket price to visitors and whatever <a href=\"http:\/\/www.disphotic.com\/the-cultural-debt-of-corporate-sponsorship\/\" target=\"_blank\">opaque figure<\/a> is gifted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=0CB0QFjAAahUKEwjlmbzC8s3HAhUOWtsKHbSiD2M&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.taylorwessing.com%2F&amp;ei=EnDhVeXIAY607Qa0xb6YBg&amp;usg=AFQjCNGiz5rTPuEbtJ4QB7GeDyBKaf9Zbw&amp;sig2=82GghY8Wnl2XUtDluUUB7Q\" target=\"_blank\">Taylor Wessing LLP<\/a> as part of their sponsorship arrangements. Of course there is money in photography, but as in every field the real issues are who has it, and more precisely what did they do to get it?\u00c2\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theonlinephotographer.typepad.com\/the_online_photographer\/2015\/09\/mastering-photographic-technique.html\" target=\"_blank\">Mastering Photographic Technique via TOP<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>But here&#8217;s the big secret that people won&#8217;t tell you often enough: You don&#8217;t need to know all of it. DIY culture is, by its nature, an ethic in opposition to society\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s rules at large.
