Why so much faith in numbers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fear. Numbers are safe, predictable, and solid. Numbers don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t change or move. Nerds like statics and hate the dynamic. Numbers can be controlled; reality cannot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My theory:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More and more people who become atheist need a new god-head or a god-figure. Who is this? Data!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Computer science run amok<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Philosophy of computer science and data:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually all can be distilled into 1\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s and 0\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Which means we moderns are trying to transform humans into numbers. We are trying to quantify humans as if we were computers. This is very bad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
