{"id":244075,"date":"2020-06-14T08:32:06","date_gmt":"2020-06-14T15:32:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/?p=244075"},"modified":"2020-06-14T08:39:46","modified_gmt":"2020-06-14T15:39:46","slug":"extreme-responsibility-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/14\/extreme-responsibility-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Extreme Responsibility"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A thought:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>If we all as individuals took extreme responsibility for ourselves &#8230; perhaps this could make the world a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153better place\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, or certainly give us the power to advance our own personal self-interests.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is modernism?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nietzsche says that modernism is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Not putting your own self-interests first. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My thought on what modernism is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Being a slave to moral and ethical qualms, seeming to be \u00e2\u20ac\u0153scientific\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, I find it very bizarre how many of my atheist friends or colleagues deny the existence of God, yet still are in bondage of traditional Judeo-Christian-Utilitarian notions of morals and ethics. Even more bizarre how many scientists and intellectuals (atheists) who end up getting suckered by mysticism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-videopress\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"VideoPress Video Player\" aria-label='VideoPress Video Player' width='1180' height='664' src='https:\/\/videopress.com\/embed\/CS9hCC8f?autoPlay=1&amp;loop=1&amp;muted=1&amp;persistVolume=0&amp;preloadContent=metadata&amp;hd=0&amp;cover=1' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen allow='clipboard-write'><\/iframe><script src='https:\/\/v0.wordpress.com\/js\/next\/videopress-iframe.js?m=1770107250'><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It is human nature to desire some sacred?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our modern society:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>All profane, no sacred.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thus if an individual is 100% \u00e2\u20ac\u0153rational\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and atheist &#8230; what happens to him or her when they want something more sacred in life? Then perhaps this is where \u00e2\u20ac\u0153secular\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Buddhism and Mysticism comes to play. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Theory:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It is the secular and atheist people who get most suckered by mysticism, weird conspiracy theories, UFO stuff, and non-<a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/13\/your-experiences-are-empirical\/\">empirical<\/a> thinking. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why I have never met a true free thinker <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Problems \u00e2\u20ac\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>First of all, most people are employed.
