Open source or closed source. Open borders or closed borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The significance of open vs closed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certainly there are benefits of being open vs closed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple is a closed system and their products are 1000x superior to that of Google (iOS is far superior to Android in terms of aesthetics, simplicity, and elegance).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However the question is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Who will last? Who will conquer the planet?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Elitism or mass numbers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certainly Google is winning in terms of mass adoption. But &#8212; Apple is winning to capture the hearts of the rich and elite in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Which is the superior model?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is elitism still compatible with democracy, open access, etc?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2018\/09\/19\/17-lessons-steve-jobs-has-taught-me\/\">Steve Jobs<\/a> did it pretty well. What he did was:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Create things for the masses, at a more elite price.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Great innovator. Kanye is doing the same with clothing, fashion and sneakers: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Yeezy sneakers are expensive, but still far cheaper than buying a new iPhone, new watch, etc.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">My ambition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My simple ambition is this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Make my name [ERIC KIM] last for at least 300 years.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My thought: When it comes down to it&#8230; it all comes down to being open or closed.
