Meaning in today&#8217;s COVID world&#8230; all plans are literally out the window. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example let us say last year you were planning in dutifully putting away 20% of your income into a 401k for the next 35 years then to retire. It is impossible to even know what is gonna happen tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, life pre-covid and life during-covid happened in a single day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Yesterday I was doing deadlifts and training to deadlift 500 pounds, and today I got the news that all the gyms in America have been shut down. Why? I grew up in a situation where every day was different. My mom told me as a child:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Sangjina (my name in Korean is Sang-Jin) &#8212; your dad just gambled away the rent money. Be ready, we might be homeless by the end of this month.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This taught me a lot. It taught me to put no faith in the &#8216;morrow. Have an insanely huge monetary buffer, which means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>When shit hits the fan, you don&#8217;t trip, because you can still pay rent and buy groceries for yourself.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-videopress\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"VideoPress Video Player\" aria-label='VideoPress Video Player' width='500' height='281' src='https:\/\/videopress.com\/embed\/JavHCoXk?autoPlay=1&amp;loop=1&amp;muted=1&amp;persistVolume=0&amp;preloadContent=metadata&amp;hd=0&amp;cover=1' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen allow='clipboard-write'><\/iframe><script src='https:\/\/v0.wordpress.com\/js\/next\/videopress-iframe.js?m=1674852142'><\/script>\n<\/div><figcaption>Life goals During and AFTER COVID<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why plan?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I think we plan in order to impose order and control over chaos. Where does this desire stem? Perhaps the desire to control reality. Perhaps the desire to AVOID pain, death, and suffering from reality.
