A thought in photography:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps it is more effective to ditch\/delete\/remove our “bad” photos, than worry too much about figuring out what our “good” photos are to keep.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Culling your photos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is what I realized about photography in general:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is all about subtraction.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Composition is all about figuring out what superfluous elements to subtract from your frame.<\/li>
  2. Making a photo-series or project is figuring out what superfluous photos to remove (photos you don’t like or care for).<\/li>
  3. Life is about figuring out what you HATE doing; and arranging your life in a way to avoid doing what you hate.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    A thought on digestion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Perhaps to improve our digestion is figuring out what foods to SUBTRACT from our diet — foods which irritate us (like dairy for Asian people, etc).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Subtract dairy\/cheese\/milk\/cream<\/li>
    2. Subtract gluten, carbs, sugars<\/li>
    3. Subtract high fructose corn syrup and simple starches<\/li>
    4. Subtract beer, wine (red and\/or white), or other liquors<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Via negativa health<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      And for general health:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Subtract cigarettes (obviously)<\/li>
      2. Subtract weed, cocaine, and other uppers\/downers <\/li>
      3. For insomnia, subtract bright screens at night (turn off lights at night, make your house very dark).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        To feel less anxious or depressed, figure out the irritants or bullshit to subtract from your life:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Subtract negative people (get rid of the leeches<\/a>).<\/li>
        2. Subtract ‘bullshit work’<\/li>
        3. Subtract news, media, or things which trigger your anxiety or heart rate.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          The point ain’t to subtract for the sake of it<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          The ultimate goal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Not to subtract to become a zero. Instead, subtracting all the superfluous bullshit from your life in order to focus and concentrate on what is truly meaningful to you!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
