{"id":198482,"date":"2019-12-22T08:15:12","date_gmt":"2019-12-22T16:15:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/?p=198482"},"modified":"2019-12-22T08:20:15","modified_gmt":"2019-12-22T16:20:15","slug":"only-work-on-things-you-can-imagine-doing-for-eternity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2019\/12\/22\/only-work-on-things-you-can-imagine-doing-for-eternity\/","title":{"rendered":"Only Work on Things You Can Imagine Doing for Eternity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The eternal creative return:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>To work on things you will never tire of, never bore of&#8211; things that will always interest, entertain, excite, and thrill you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Photography<\/strong>: I will shoot photos until I <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2018\/11\/18\/how-can-you-stay-inspired-to-shoot-photos-until-youre-120-years-old\/\">die at age 120<\/a>&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2019\/11\/22\/how-to-live-to-be-140-years-old-in-hyper-health\/\">140<\/a><\/li><li><strong>Writing<\/strong>: Writing and <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/blogging\/\">blogging<\/a> as &#8216;meta-thinking&#8217;, or &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2019\/12\/13\/blogging-as-augmented-thinking\/\">augmented thinking<\/a>&#8216;. I don&#8217;t put any ego or pride into my writing. I simply write because it is the most effective way of getting my thoughts out there. And I derive great joy from sharing my thoughts.<\/li><li><strong>Teaching<\/strong>: I derive great pleasure and deep existential joy from teaching. What is the point of learning if I couldn&#8217;t teach?<\/li><li><strong>Reading<\/strong>: To me, this is the most effective form of getting new ideas, or resonating the ideas already inherent within myself.<\/li><li><strong>Powerlifting \/ Weight lifting<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/powerlifting\/\">Powerlifting<\/a> as <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2019\/06\/06\/the-zen-of-powerlifting\/\">zen meditation<\/a> to me, and infinitely fascinating. Testing to extent of the human body.<\/li><li><strong>Music<\/strong>: Life without music would be a mistake (Nietzsche).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then the other side:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Don&#8217;t waste any time or your life working or building things you cannot imagine doing for an eternity.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ERIC<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/philosophy\/\">Philosophy by Kim ><\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The eternal creative return: To work on things you will never tire of, never bore of&#8211; things that will always interest, entertain, excite, and thrill you.
