Thoughts on black vs white in photography, approach, technique, etc:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Black vs White<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The interesting thing about black and white photography:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A photograph which is all black is meaningless. A photo all white is meaningless. A photo needs BOTH the white AND black.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, inherent in the black or white portion, there is a dot of the other extreme:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example in the white space, there is a black dot. In the black space, there is a white dot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the context of my black and white photography, I see a strong and stark contrast between the white and black region in my photos:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Extreme action or extreme tranquility?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Another yin and yang concept:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Perhaps the most effective types of images are the ones which have a stark yin-yang contrast between the extremes. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    For example, the extreme zen photos:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        I believe the notion of yin and yang is this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Extremes don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t exist. They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re simply different sides of the same coin.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

        And we need both. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
