From 1985 to today, the inflation rate is roughly 2.3x. In 2019 dollars, a Leica M6 cost roughly $3,900 USD. In fact, accounting for the digital technology, increasing labor costs, etc &#8212; the digital Leica M10 is &#8216;fairly priced&#8217; in my eyes. And we want the best, the ideal, and the optimal camera for us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assuming <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/street-photography-101\/\">street photography<\/a> or everyday photography is our passion, we want the lightest, smallest, least cumbersome, and the least expensive camera. Why? Sometimes having a really expensive camera (even if you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re rich) feels like a liability. For example having an iPhone Pro is stressful\u00e2\u20ac\u201d because you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re always paranoid about dropping it, or getting it stolen. Having a cheaper phone is advantageous in the sense that you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t really worry about it, and <strong>you can live more fearlessly and boldly. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus the same notion probably applies to photography. <strong>The cheaper your camera, the more boldly you can shoot!<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Equipment <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Josef Koudelka Or a camera which you can shoot intuitively and instinctively with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently the most \u00e2\u20ac\u0153frictionless\u00e2\u20ac\u009dcameras include <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2019\/10\/31\/iphone-pro-is-good-enough-for-photography\/\">iPhone<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2019\/11\/13\/ricoh-gr-iii-is-the-answer\/\">RICOH GR III<\/a>. But the problem is falling victim to <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/gas\/\">GAS (gear acquisition syndrome)<\/a> where we are buying stuff for the sake of it (has happened to me).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you already have a bunch of equipment that works for you&#8211; stick with it.
