In life’s action-packed RPG<\/a>, remember– you’re the hero!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

1. What makes a more interesting movie or story?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What types of movies do you like watching? What kind of books do you like reading?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For myself, I like John Wick<\/a> and the movie 300<\/a>. I aspire to live my life like Keanu Reeves, King Leonidas, Brad Pitt, or Achilles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why not strive to live your own ideal life in the maximally interesting, challenging, and fun way?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Don’t shirk from difficulty<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Let us assume your life was an RPG: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Would you prefer to be bored, or to go out and adventure?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In video games (RPG’s in particular), it seems we like to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Fight<\/li>
  2. Level up<\/li>
  3. Gain experience points<\/li>
  4. Gain rare items which augment our power<\/li>
  5. To challenge others<\/li>
  6. To quest and discover new things, places, and abilities.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Why not do this in real life?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Follow your heroes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Think about great individuals in history (real, fictional), and strive to emulate their behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Plutarch’s Lives of the noble Grecians and Romans<\/a> is a great wealth of information about great individuals in the past whom we can strive to emulate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Or we can read biographies of individuals who we admire. For example I loved the Walter Isaacson biography on Steve Jobs<\/a>, the Ashlee Vance biography on Elon Musk<\/a>. I can’t wait until Walter Isaacson does a biography on Kanye West<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Supersede your heroes!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Then the next goal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Keep your heroes in mind, then seek to become MORE than them!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    For example, I admire all these great philosophers<\/a> from the past. But I desire to become MORE than them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For example, I have always wondered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why haven’t there been any powerlifting philosophers in history?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    Certainly a philosopher who built themselves the apex of physical AND philosophical strength would be 1000x more epic than a philosopher who only focused on mental culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    7. The big vision of a Elon Musk<\/a><\/li>
    8. The aesthetics of a Steve Jobs<\/a><\/li>
    9. The poetry of a Horace<\/a><\/li>
    10. The selflessness of a Jesus<\/a><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Never stop striving towards your ideals (and beyond!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
