We often think that by owning MORE things, and fancier things, we will be \u00e2\u20ac\u0153happier\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. In fact, I find that my life is WORSENED when I have more things, more liabilities, and more responsibilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The more you own, the more which owns you.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For example, my only real gripe with the iPhone Pro<\/a>\u00e2\u20ac\u201d its a bit slippery, which makes it feel like a HUGE liability. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m always paranoid that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m gonna drop it, so I just walk around it with in my hand (but then I might get worried I can drop it this way as well).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I go to the gym, I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t like bringing the iPhone Pro. Why? I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m worried that someone might steal, or bump into it-break it, or scratch it. Whereas when I have my shitty old Android phone with me, I give \u00e2\u20ac\u0153zero fucks\u00e2\u20ac\u009dabout it, which gives me more peace of mind when I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m at the gym.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t like wearing a Rolex<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the downsides of a Rolex:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You get paranoid that someone is gonna steal it from you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Or, when you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re out and about, you worry about it getting scratched or beat up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve discovered the best watch is no watch<\/strong> (even the Apple Watch<\/a> seemed like a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153net negative\u00e2\u20ac\u009dto my life in terms of focus and productivity). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m 100x happier NOT owning a car.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

No car, fewer stresses and liabilities. ALSO, by NOT owning a car, I have FAR MORE freedom in my life! (the ultimate good).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can walk more, think more, and worry less about where to park my car, fewer worries about car maintenance, filling up the gas, insurance, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why I never want to own a home <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To me, it seems that owning a home is a HUGE liability. If shackles you to one space. Even if you want to eventually sell it \u00e2\u20ac\u201d selling a house is a HUGE hassle. The annoyance and time wasted on getting a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153good price\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, taxes, and maximizing your money. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I prefer to live lightly \u00e2\u20ac\u201d in tiny apartments, which comes pre-furnished. (\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Plug and play living\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My ideal: living in a hotel, living in Airbnb, or short term lease apartments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are our ultimate goals and aims?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

For example, when it comes to technology (phones, gadgets, watches, laptops, cameras, etc), I think the goal is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Become more productive<\/li>
  2. Why? The more we produce, the more money we make.<\/li>
  3. Why? The more money we make, the more stuff we can buy, and gain more “freedom” (travel more, etc). Also money buys us “stability”.<\/li>
  4. Why do we desire more stuff, freedom, and stability? We think this will make us feel “happy” (embodied physiological feelings of grandeur and power).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The more things I own, the more distracted I become.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
