A deeper, a richer, a darker, a more profound reality\u00e2\u20ac\u201d this is what I find so beautiful about monochrome:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

With high contrast monochrome, there isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t much detail. But perhaps by OBSCURING details, we make the photos more interesting and profound. Note this idea of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153chiaroscuro<\/a>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00e2\u20ac\u201d the dynamic interplay between clear and obscured. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simple and strong<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My ideal in aesthetics \u00e2\u20ac\u201d simple, bold, and strong. You don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t need superfluous flourishes to enact an effect. Note the exceedingly simple language Homer uses in the Iliad to describe a myriad of emotional states in the breasts of the ancient heroes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even with post-processing, perhaps the goal is to go DEEPER and darker:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simplest and darkest is best.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Deep, dark, profound. Perhaps this is where our light exists!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
