When you upload your photos to ARS<\/a>, you can get REAL feedback from other photographers and visual artists. Also because ARS is ‘double blind’, the feedback you get is more honest and unbiased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also the cool thing is that when you are giving feedback to other photographers, you get inspired to go out and shoot photos yourself! You expose yourself to new forms of artistry, and you also learn more about yourself as a photographer (your preferences and visual aesthetics) while you’re critiquing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photography, gamified (for good)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We “gamified” ARS by introducing ‘ARS COIN<\/a>‘ — a new economy for photographers. The basic idea is this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The more critiques you give, the more ARS Coin you accumulate!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

It is a good ‘point system’ to keep photography fun, challenging, and this interesting game\/competition. But it is in the spirit of fun (not superficial “likes” on Instagram or other forms of social media).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instagram isn’t for photographers anymore<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Initially I liked Instagram, but at this point, it is just a superficial ‘lifestyle’ app. It ain’t for photography no more. It is a crack-cocaine machine, which motivates you to keep using it, in order to continue to serve you more ‘targeted’ advertisements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am convinced: Instagram is bad for humanity.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
