There isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t anything you \u00e2\u20ac\u0153should\u00e2\u20ac\u009d or \u00e2\u20ac\u0153shouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t\u00e2\u20ac\u009d do, which you personally don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t believe in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To me, this is the ultimate liberating thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have an intrinsic or ultimate \u00e2\u20ac\u0153duty\u00e2\u20ac\u009d to your parents, to your country, to your culture, to your community, or even to your partner or kids. You can DECIDE to have this duty, but it isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t something that you are strong-armed or compelled to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once again \u00e2\u20ac\u201d there are certain practical consequences which will happen to you by \u00e2\u20ac\u0153disobeying\u00e2\u20ac\u009d others or cultural norms. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t kill, steal, and drive over 65 on the freeway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But besides these practical laws \u00e2\u20ac\u201d the moral and ethical beliefs you have, and how you determine to live your life is yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the thing is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>We shouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t superimpose our morality and ethics other others, and nobody should superimpose THEIR morality and ethics upon us.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why the notion of tolerance is so powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll leave you alone, and you leave me alone.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Let me live my life, and I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll let you live your own life.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t force me to live how you think I \u00e2\u20ac\u0153should\u00e2\u20ac\u009d live my life. What we are NOT allowed to do is physically attack others.
