{"id":140214,"date":"2019-04-22T05:08:40","date_gmt":"2019-04-22T12:08:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/?p=140214"},"modified":"2019-04-22T21:00:13","modified_gmt":"2019-04-23T04:00:13","slug":"the-new-digital-elite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2019\/04\/22\/the-new-digital-elite\/","title":{"rendered":"The New Digital Elite"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>My prediction: the future of the internet, social media, and technology will become a brave new world\/ bifurcation between the new digital elite\/digital serfs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Knowledge gap<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Individuals who know how algorithms are nudging\/changing their lives, individuals who know how to utilize ad-blockers (or who pay for non-advertising membership), and individuals who opt for iPhone\/iOS (less driven by the Android-advertising-Google infrastructure).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parents who decide NOT to give their kids phones, tablets, access to &#8220;free&#8221; games or YouTube early on. Parents who can afford to have more real-life &#8220;face time&#8221; with their kids, and can afford to send their kids to schools WITHOUT Chromebooks and iPads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being able to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/90336381\/the-new-digital-divide-is-between-people-who-opt-out-of-algorithms-and-people-who-dont?fbclid=IwAR3msj8cyEN1cZkPVYVueoswJVJjfEeLjZR0L1Eak4DFs-e_MjjCH3Jza8E\">&#8220;opt out&#8221; from Algorithms<\/a>, and take more control over their technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A new luxury search engine? (Idea from Kanye West)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I wonder in the future we will witness more \u00e2\u20ac\u0153luxury\u00e2\u20ac\u009d internet services, and more \u00e2\u20ac\u0153free\u00e2\u20ac\u009d internet services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, iPhone and iOS for the people who have the luxury not to have their behavior mined in order to get delivered more precise ads.
