Changing, it rests.
Heraclitus

I think “burnout” is often boredom mixed with physical exhaustion mixed with working on things you don’t care about.

Prevent boredom by switching things up. Prevent physical exhaustion with ample protein/meat and rest. And never work on things you don’t care about (curate your life by only working on what you care about, only with/towards people you care about).

If you like it, are interested in it, or care about it, just shoot it! This way your photos will show more of your own personal soul, authenticity, and interest.

For myself I’ve lost motivation to make photos in the past when I’m just trying to make photos to impress others. When I’m striving to impress myself and entertain myself, motivating myself to shoot photos is very easy!

Like more stuff

"selfie

Andy Warhol once said something like, “Pop art is by liking stuff; liking everything.” I agree with this sentiment; perhaps we as photographers will be more joyful, happy, and productive if we just like more stuff around ourselves!

This is why my curation of photos is starting to become looser and more chill; I like to look are more stuff now!

Shoot more and share more; and end up liking more!

Visual stream of consciousness

Perhaps this is the next evolution in photography:

Individual photos don’t matter so much. It is about the totality of all the images in your life.

The stream never stops flowing, and you’re never the same photographer (You never step in the same river twice, because both you and the stream of the water is different [Heraclitus]).
