To distinguish yourself, creatively isolate yourself from others, then follow your own internal promoting, pursue your own creative and intellectual interests, and learn to respect your own curiosity, and deem yourself as a searcher of personal truth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Why distinguish yourself? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Distinguishing yourself means to proclaim yourself as different and distinct. To recognize that you are unique (one of a kind), and that your personal value resides in the fact that you’re unique. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To distinguish yourself means to turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to trends. To pride yourself on being different. To procrastinate on riding a trend, because you know the trend will most likely die out. Purposeful procrastination as essential to your own personal self-development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create your own culture <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Recognize you don’t need to be a “culture vulture” (feeding on foreign cultures to self-develop yourself). Better to create your own unique culture, and to follow it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course we all were raised in different cultures, and these cultures have deeply influenced us. My suggestion is to deeply analyze the cultures in which you were raised in, and ask yourself:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the cultural beliefs and customs I love and desire to integrate into myself? What cultural norms do I decide to reject? <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Pride yourself in yourself <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nihil admirari (don’t admire anyone else). Admire yourself, and never desire to change shoes with anyone else. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
