Some practical ideas and tips on shooting better color photos:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. Juicy colors<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Shoot colors which are nice and juicy to you — imagine the juice coming out of a ripe tangerine, or any colors which excite and interest you!<\/p>\n

2. Gritty textures<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Photograph gritty colorful textures<\/a>. As a tip, use a flash<\/a> to better saturate and bring out the textures of whatever you photograph!<\/p>\n

3. Red, blue, yellow<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Keep your colors simple. Try to experiment with this simple color palette: Red<\/strong><\/span>, Blue<\/strong><\/span>, and Yellow<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

4. Photograph colorful food<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Experiment with color photography, by keeping it simple with colors! Like this breakfast I ate in Japan (“American styled”): Yellow egg yolks, pink bacon (more like ham), red ketchup, and a blue plate.<\/p>\n

\n

5. Red and green<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Red and green is one of the best color combinations (think Christmas, Gucci, Heineken beer).<\/p>\n

As an assignment, make photos with only Red and Green colors.<\/p>\n

6. Shoot during sunset<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When the sun sets, the golden light will make your colors look so much better in your photos.<\/p>\n

Try shooting more photos during sunrise and sunset (golden hour), to have more beautiful saturated color and light in your photos!<\/p>\n

7. Keep it simple.<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Experiment just including only one color in each photo. Like only yellow.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Or only red:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

8. Study nature<\/h2>\n

What colors do you see in nature? Imitate that!<\/p>\n
