For more dynamic compositions, crouch down low and shoot your subject with the buildings leading to their face<\/h2>\n<p>Also when shooting in the shade, use a flash to separate your subject and background.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/img_8347.jpg?w=1180\" class=\"size-full\"><\/p>\n<h2>3. Get close and fill the frame<\/h2>\n<p>Shoot with a wide angle lens (24mm-35mm) and fill the frame with the faces of your subjects! Shoot with a flash<\/h2>\n<p>Experiment shooting street photography with a flash to make more surreal photos. And experiment shooting with a flash through glass too! I did this much for my <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/product\/suits-eric-kim-limited-first-edition-hardcover-photobook\/\">SUITS<\/a> book.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/8125588413_6c0b946144_o.jpg?w=1180\" class=\"size-full\"><\/p>\n<h2>6. Juxtapose<\/h2>\n<p>Juxtaposition is a contrast between two concepts or ideas.<\/p>\n<p>For example,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Young vs old<\/li>\n<li>Children vs adults<\/li>\n<li>Skinny and fat<\/li>\n<li>Modern and classic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre><code>&lt;li&gt;To make more powerful photos, keep it simple, and just contrast or juxtapose two elements, like I did with this father and son in downtown la:&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;img src=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/8111762700_95da4c62a9_o.jpg\" class=\"size-full\"&gt;\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<h2>7. Don&#8217;t just take 1-2 photos of a scene<\/h2>\n<p>Instead, &#8220;work the scene&#8221;. Look for the curved line, arabesque<\/h2>\n<p>Or what Cindy calls, look for a &#8220;squiggly line composition&#8221; when shooting. Interact and engage with your subjects<\/h2>\n<p>William Klein embedded his soul into his photos by interacting and engaging with his subjects.
