Life lessons from my motivational life-coach– Friedrich Nietzsche:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t cower under suffering. Rather, know that suffering leads to growth in life\u00e2\u20ac\u201d and we need to suffer in order to grow stronger.<\/p>\n
Everyone strives to become a master of their space, and to constantly extend and grow.<\/p>\n
\n Anything which is a living and not a dying body will have to be an incarnate will to power, it will strive to grow, spread, seize and become predominant. Not from any morality or immorality but because it is living and because life simply is will to power. \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcExploitation\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 belongs to the essence of what lives, as a basic organic function, it is a consequence of the will to power, which is after all the will to life.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Anything that is living will have a will to power\u00e2\u20ac\u201d strive to grow, spread, and seize and become predominant. Because to live is a will to power!<\/p>\n
So, do you have a will to live? If you have a will to live\u00e2\u20ac\u201d you need a will to power. Never stop growing, spreading, and seizing opportunities in life, to become stronger.<\/p>\n
2. We are responsible for ourselves<\/h2>\n
No complaining in life. We need to take full responsibility of our lives:<\/p>\n
\n We are responsible to ourselves for our own existence; we want to be the true helmsman of this existence and refuse to allow our existence to resemble a mindless act of chance.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
We exist, because we are responsible for how we live and think. We want to take the steering wheel of life, and don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t just think of our lives as a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcmindless act of chance.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/p>\n
3. Never stop climbing<\/h2>\n
\n \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcIn the mountains of truth you will never climb in vain.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
In seeking truth; you will never climb in vain \u00e2\u20ac\u201d you will either go up higher today, or you will use your strength to get up higher tomorrow.<\/p>\n
4. Build your own bridge in life<\/h2>\n
\n No one can construct for you the bridge upon you must cross the stream of life; nobody but yourself alone.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Nobody can build your bridge in life to cross the stream of life; you must build your own bridge yourself.<\/p>\n
5. Follow your own path in life<\/h2>\n
There is a path in life that only you can go. where does it lead? don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t ask \u00e2\u20ac\u201d just follow your own path.<\/p>\n
6. Your genius is inside you<\/h2>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t evade your own genius. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t look around yourself. Look inside yourself.<\/p>\n
7. No real facts exist<\/h2>\n
\n No facts exist; only interpretations.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
There is no real \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcright\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 or \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcwrong\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 in the world \u00e2\u20ac\u201d just how you interpret it.<\/p>\n
8. Consume great culture<\/h2>\n
You are what you eat:<\/p>\n
\n Culture is liberation, removal of all the weeds, rubble and vermin that attack the tender buds of the plant.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Make sure you only consume culture which you love, and feel is giving your inner-seed nutrition and empowerment.<\/p>\n
9. Love difference of thought<\/h2>\n
Admire those who think differently than you:<\/p>\n
\n Hold in higher esteem those who think differently!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
10. Never stop seeking the truth<\/h2>\n
\n Strive for peace of soul; seek to be a devotee of truth and inquire.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Seek the truth until you die.<\/p>\n
11. Revel in your eccentricity<\/h2>\n
If you are weird or an \u00e2\u20ac\u02dceccentric\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u201d revel in it. Appreciate your uniqueness. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t try to conform to society. You are a round peg \u00e2\u20ac\u201d and you cannot be fit into a square hole.<\/p>\n
12. Strive after wisdom<\/h2>\n
Wisdom: knowing the difference between good and bad, and knowing what it means to be a virtuous human being.<\/p>\n
Never stop striving to become the best version of yourself, and seeking wisdom:<\/p>\n
\n I now myself live , in every detail, striving for wisdom\u00e2\u20ac\u201d while I formerly merely worshipped and idolized the wise.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t just swallow the wisdom of the past masters of philosophy. Rather, strive to build your own path. Appreciate the masters from the past, but don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t just follow them blindly.<\/p>\n
13. Be bold<\/h2>\n
\n My problems are new; my psychological horizon is frighteningly comprehensive, my language is bold and clear\u00e2\u20ac\u201d there are no books written in German which have ideas and more independent ideas than mine.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t fake humble. Be bold. Do cool shit, and change the world for the better.<\/p>\n
14. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t become a monster<\/h2>\n
\n He who fights the monsters should find out that I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t become monster.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Sometimes in life you live long enough to become the villain.<\/p>\n
Make sure that in your ideals, you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t become a fascist. Think of all those with overtly idealistic ideas\u00e2\u20ac\u201d who ended up killing millions.<\/p>\n
Never become a monster in trying to fight the monsters.<\/p>\n
15. Would you live your entire life on loop?<\/h2>\n
Nietzsche had this concept of the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dceternal return\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u201d if you lived your life on loop (for eternity) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d would you be happy and joyous? Or would it be a living hell for you \u00e2\u20ac\u201d would you be dying of boredom?<\/p>\n
Practical application: Live everyday and ask yourself, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcWould I be willing to re-live this day a million times forever?\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/p>\n
Essentially,\u00c2\u00a0make everyday a perfect day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
16. Think different<\/h2>\n
Steve Jobs once said, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcThink Different.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 It echoes Nietzsche \u00e2\u20ac\u201d who said:<\/p>\n
\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The surest way to corrupt youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d – Nietzsche\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Public schools and formal education fucks us up. We learn to be generic\u00e2\u20ac\u201d to take tests, and to be generic to the point of castration.<\/p>\n
We need to teach our youth to revel and be happy in being different. Or else they can never do anything grand with their lives.<\/p>\n
17. The universe isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t an organism<\/h2>\n
Nietzsche said the concept of seeing the universe as a organism disgusted him. He said, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcThe earth is essential, universal, and eternal. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t antromorphize nature into being an organism \u00e2\u20ac\u201d the universe is something greater.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/p>\n
To \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcAnthromorphize\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 something means to give non-human things (like animals, trees, and nature) human emotions.<\/p>\n
For example, we know the human emotion of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dchappiness.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 When we see a dog that is smiling\u00e2\u20ac\u201d we assume the dog is also \u00e2\u20ac\u02dchappy.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 But the problem is that we don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know if a dog internalizes the same human feelings we do.<\/p>\n
So the lesson is this: be careful ascribing human emotions to non-human things<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
18. Criticize yourself<\/h2>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t care what others think of you\u00e2\u20ac\u201d but be your harshest self-critic.<\/p>\n
For me, I am a bit lazy. I need to double-down on my hustle, and not waste any of my time or life.<\/p>\n
19. The purpose of life is creating art<\/h2>\n
\n Art is the supreme task and the truly metaphysical activity in this life.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The purpose of life is to create art\u00e2\u20ac\u201d and the only thing worth doing. We can create art via music, through drawings, through pictures, through writing and poetry. It is our #1 duty in life\u00e2\u20ac\u201d to create more art<\/a>.<\/p>\n
20. Pay attention to artistic stimuli<\/h2>\n
What stimulates your artistic sense? Colors, textures, music, or images?<\/p>\n
Observe closely\u00e2\u20ac\u201d and enjoy observation. The greatest skill of a photographer or an artist is to have an observant eye<\/strong>. That means, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t always look at your smartphone\u00e2\u20ac\u201d spend time to look at the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcreal world.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/p>\n
21. Do you want to keep dreaming on in life?<\/h2>\n
Life is about pursuing your dreams. If you woke up one day and found out your life were a dream \u00e2\u20ac\u201d would you want to live or dream on?<\/p>\n
\n It is a dream! i want to dream on!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
22. Dionysian vs Apollonian<\/h2>\n
Dionysius was the god of debauchery, drunkenness, and madness.<\/p>\n
Apollo was the god of reason, order, and rationality.<\/p>\n
Nietzsche\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s main concept of the Dionysian vs Apollonian was that to be the best version of ourselves\u00e2\u20ac\u201d we need to combine and blend both<\/em> the craziness and the rational side of our minds.<\/p>\n
So that might mean get really fucking angry sometimes, but also remain cool and calm other times.<\/p>\n
Embrace polar opposites and extremes\u00e2\u20ac\u201d rather than a boring \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcmiddle\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 course in life.<\/p>\n
So for me, I would rather live a fucking epic ass life (and die in a state of thrill), rather than to live a moderate-boring comfortable life in an office 9-5 cozy $100,000 a year job.<\/p>\n
23. Gird yourself<\/h2>\n
Get ready for the war of life, it will be a fucking hard battle:<\/p>\n
\n \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcGird yourselves for a hard battle; but have faith in the miracles of your god!\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
24. Love the strong<\/h2>\n
Avoid emasculated inquiries.<\/p>\n
Figure out how to help yourself to grow stronger in life.<\/p>\n
Hate self-weakness, thrive in strength.<\/p>\n
25. Disregard metaphors<\/h2>\n
Forget this primitive world of metaphor \u00e2\u20ac\u201d don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t just classify stuff.<\/p>\n
Instead of classifying knowledge\u00e2\u20ac\u201d interpret information, and create meaning<\/em> and purpose<\/em>.<\/p>\n
26. Be a PERSON OF ACTION<\/h2>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t just think, contemplate and meditate\u00e2\u20ac\u201d you need to be a person of ACTION! Only way you can get stronger in life is to take ACTION.<\/p>\n
To make a business, you need to take ACTION and RISK.<\/p>\n
To get stronger, you need to take action \u00e2\u20ac\u201d you need to get on the floor, sweat, and do pushups.<\/p>\n
If you want to be an artist, you must take ACTION and CREATE art!<\/p>\n
27. Honor the ancients<\/h2>\n
\n To honor the ancients; continue seeking with the same spirit and with the same courage and don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be weary of the search for the truth.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
To have the same spirit<\/em> and courage that the ancients did\u00e2\u20ac\u201d to never give up. To be inspired by their curiosity and inquiry.<\/p>\n
In photography, to follow the masters of photography<\/a>, but seek to create our own unique vision and perspective of the world.<\/p>\n
28. Innovate<\/h2>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be a follower. Be an innovator. Think for yourself. Pave your own path in life.<\/p>\n
Like Kanye West<\/a> said, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcI\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d rather be a dick than a swallower.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/p>\n
29. Follow your intuition in life<\/h2>\n
Follow your gut in life, rather than \u00e2\u20ac\u02dclogic\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 and concepts:<\/p>\n
\n I will now be guided by intuition in life, rather than concepts.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
With intuition, it doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have a regular path. Follow your gut always\u00e2\u20ac\u201din art and how you live your life<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Disregard your concern for the future, and to be \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcprudent\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 and \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcregular\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 in life. Rather be an \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcoverjoyed hero\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u201d and find beauty in everyday life.<\/p>\n
31. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t cower from your uniqueness<\/h2>\n
You are unique. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be afraid to express your uniqueness. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t fear negative stigma from others:<\/p>\n
\n In his heart every man knows that being unique; he will be in the world once and that no imaginable chance will a second time gather together into a unity so strangely variegated an assortment as he is; he knows it but he hides it like a bad conscience\u00e2\u20ac\u201d Why? From fear of his neighbor, who demands conventionality and cloaks himself with it.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t fear what your neighbor will think of you. Just do you<\/em>.<\/p>\n
32. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t fear the opinion of your neighbors<\/h2>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t feel constrained by this modern concept of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcmodesty.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/p>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t fall victim to indolence and inertia. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t follow social conventions\u00e2\u20ac\u201d don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t act like a member of the herd. For inspiration, watch FIGHT CLUB<\/a>.<\/p>\n
\n But what is it that constrains the individual to fear his neighbor, to think and act like a member of the herd, and to have no joy in himself?\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t fear the opinion of others. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think like the herd. Rather, follow your own joy in life.<\/p>\n
33. Men are lazy<\/h2>\n
\n Men are lazier than they are timid; and fear inconveniences which unconditional honesty and nakedness would burden them.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Alcohol, drugs, and entertainment make us passive. It makes us timid, and numbs the pain of the world outside.<\/p>\n
For me, I abstain (most of the time) from drugs and alcohol \u00e2\u20ac\u201d because it dumbs down my creative output.<\/p>\n
What de-powers you in life, and what empowers you?<\/p>\n
Cut whatever makes you weak, timid, or lazy.<\/p>\n
34. You are a unique miracle<\/h2>\n
\n Artists alone hate this sluggish promenading in borrowed fashions and appropriated opinions. They reveal everyone\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s secret bad conscience; the law that every man is a unique miracle.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The fact you exist is a unique miracle. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t waste your life.<\/p>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t wish to belong to the masses. Follow your conscience which tells you:<\/p>\n
\n \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcBe yourself! All that you are now doing, thinking, and desiring is not yourself.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 – Nietzsche\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
BE YOU.<\/strong><\/p>\n
35. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be lazy<\/h2>\n
\n The lazy kill time.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Life is nothing but Time\u00e2\u20ac\u201d as my buddy Seneca<\/a> has taught me.<\/p>\n
That means, you (if lucky) might have 90 years on this planet (in total). How much of your time have you already wasted?<\/p>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t kill time. If you kill your time, you are killing yourself \u00e2\u20ac\u201d you are killing your life.<\/strong><\/p>\n
If you want to truly liberate yourself in life\u00e2\u20ac\u201d cut out any distractions or fear you have in life<\/a>.<\/p>\n
36. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcpseudo-man\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/h2>\n
A \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcpseudo-man\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 is a half-man. A fake man.<\/p>\n
If you are a fake person, you are dominated by public opinion, and the opinion of others.<\/p>\n
To be a 100% real person \u00e2\u20ac\u201d is not to be a slave to the opinions of others.<\/p>\n
37. We are responsible for our own existence<\/h2>\n
\n Be the true helmsman of the experience of life; and refuse to let my existence resemble a mindless act of chance!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
You are responsible for your life. Never blame anybody else. Make the changes you wish to see in life.<\/p>\n
38. Seek freedom!<\/h2>\n
\n The youthful soul says, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcI will make an attempt to attain freedom!\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
How do you define freedom?<\/p>\n
To me, freedom is not<\/em> doing what you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t like doing\u00e2\u20ac\u201d and doing<\/em> what you like to do.<\/p>\n
I like to think, write, photograph, teach, and spend time with loved ones. I hate doing administrative work, and being the slave of a 9-5 job, and a boss. I am lucky enough to have crafted my life to have (more or less) 100% freedom. And I am insanely grateful to be alive, and to always be creating<\/a>.<\/p>\n
39. Shed your false skin<\/h2>\n
We are born with \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc70×7 skins\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 (490 layers of false skin). We need to shed off this false skin.<\/p>\n
Funny little reference from Nietzsche to Jesus<\/a> \u00e2\u20ac\u201d who said forgive your brothers and sisters 70×7 times<\/a>.<\/p>\n
\n I am a dark and veiled thing\u00e2\u20ac\u201d i have 70×7 skins\u00e2\u20ac\u201d I need to tell myself, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcThis is really you; this is no longer outer shell\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u201d shed off my skin!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
So peel away your false layers\u00e2\u20ac\u201d and reveal your TRUE skin.<\/p>\n
In other words, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have two faces.<\/p>\n
40. Remove your false limbs<\/h2>\n
\n Truth that is learned is like artificial limb; false tooth, wax nose\u00e2\u20ac\u201d or a nose out of another flesh. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t adhere to us because it is put on.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
There is nothing more hideous than putting on fake limbs \u00e2\u20ac\u201d like fake breasts, noses, and paraphernalia.<\/p>\n
If you think something is bullshit, and it is part of you \u00e2\u20ac\u201d tear it off. And certainly in the first place, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t put it on yourself.<\/p>\n
41. Empower your pupils to their fullest extent<\/h2>\n
I need to recognize the strength of my pupils and students, and \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcdirect all effort and energy and heat at them\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u201d to help them build their own inner-virtue to the fullest extent of their maturity and fruitfulness.<\/p>\n
So essentially, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcpay it forward.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 To help your students, your children, your community \u00e2\u20ac\u201d so they can help empower others.<\/p>\n
42. Seek a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcharmonious whole\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/h2>\n
Nietzsche teaches us to seek and find a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcharmonious whole\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u201d where we can synthesize \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcmany voices in one nature\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 into a central and single point\u00e2\u20ac\u201d a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcroot force.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/p>\n
So essentially, be a single person. And focus on your single, philosophical idea to share with others.<\/p>\n
43. Make myself into my own solar system<\/h2>\n
\n My education task: mold myself and whole man into a living solar and planetary system; and understand its higher laws of motion.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Create your own solar system\u00e2\u20ac\u201d which revolves around your mind.<\/p>\n
44. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t distract yourself<\/h2>\n
\n Most humans distract their thoughts; to cease to be aware of life.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Why do we distract ourselves from life? Isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t life the greatest blessing? Then why do we become less \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcalive\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 by drowning ourselves with alcohol, drugs, and mindless entertainment?<\/p>\n
\n The objective of all human arrangement is through distracting one\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s thoughts to cease to be aware of life.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
45. I am vain<\/h2>\n
If people call me an asshole or a dick \u00e2\u20ac\u201d I can \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcascribe my extreme actions<\/em> to personal vanity.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/p>\n
So when someone insults me, I can just say: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I am a very vain person<\/em>.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Then to go back to my creative work\/art.<\/p>\n
46. Focus on a higher activity<\/h2>\n
I need to dedicate my life to \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcfocus on a higher activity\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u201d a higher individual<\/em> activity. I need to seek the truth, philosophize more, create more, and share more.<\/p>\n
I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want to be a generic human being. I want to be a SINGLE and UNIQUE person.<\/p>\n
47. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t just roll in life like a stone<\/h2>\n
\n \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcActive people roll like a stone; conforming to the stupidity of mechanics\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Many \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcactive\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 people waste their lives\u00e2\u20ac\u201d trying to be busy, just rolling the stone of life (like Sisyphus<\/a>).<\/p>\n
People are either slaves or free.<\/p>\n
If you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have more than 66% of your day to yourself, you are a slave:<\/p>\n
\n \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcMen fall into two groups: slaves and free men. Whoever doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have 2\/3rds of his day for himself, is a slave, whatever he may be: a statesman, a businessman, an official, or a scholar.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 – Nietzsche\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
If you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have more than 66% of your day to yourself, you can still be a slave\u00e2\u20ac\u201d even if you are a billionaire.<\/p>\n
48. Life is the best gift<\/h2>\n
Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t sell my life for the lowest possible price.<\/p>\n
49. Avoid excess<\/h2>\n
\n The mother of excess is not joy but joylessness.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
