As each year comes to an end, there is the hope for a new year.<\/p>\n

What will you do different in your photography next year? What will you start doing, and what will you stop doing?<\/p>\n

Photography resolutions<\/h2>\n

To start off, I think the best way to build new habits in your photography isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t what to<\/em> do, but rather\u00e2\u20ac\u201d what not<\/em> to do.<\/p>\n

Of course, you still need action in your life \u00e2\u20ac\u201d so I have also included things to<\/em> do in your photography.<\/p>\n

Here are some ideas for you:<\/p>\n

  1. Never leave the house without having your camera with you (around your neck, in your backpack, or camera bag, etc)<\/li>\n
  2. Never hesitate taking a photo you want to take<\/li>\n
  3. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t upload as many photos to social media<\/li>\n
  4. Spend less time on social media<\/li>\n
  5. Stop doubting yourself and your photography<\/li>\n
  6. Stop comparing yourself on social media to other photographers<\/li>\n
  7. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t buy any new cameras for lenses for a year<\/li>\n
  8. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t photograph others; photograph yourself<\/li>\n
  9. Stop looking at camera review websites, blogs, or sites<\/li>\n
  10. Think less about traveling and taking photos; rather, photograph closer to home<\/li>\n
  11. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t shoot with your \u00e2\u20ac\u0153real\u00e2\u20ac\u009d camera\u00e2\u20ac\u201d try to focus on shooting with your smartphone instead<\/li>\n
  12. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t buy any photo books you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t plan on re-reading<\/li>\n
  13. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think too much before taking photos<\/li>\n
  14. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t upload photos to social media (the same day you shot it) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d rather, try to let your photos \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcmarinate<\/a>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/li>\n
  15. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t take photos when you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want to take photos<\/li>\n
  16. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t use more than 1 camera, 1 lens, for the entire year<\/a><\/li>\n
  17. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t make excuses about your photography; start making photos<\/li>\n
  18. Make at least $1000 with your photography<\/a> (professional gig, teaching a workshop, giving some photography consulting)<\/li>\n
  19. Start a photography YouTube channel<\/a><\/li>\n
  20. Go on one photography road trip<\/a><\/li>\n
  21. Photograph your loved one for a year (start your own #cindyproject<\/a>)<\/li>\n
  22. Start your own photography blog<\/a><\/li>\n
  23. Teach a photography workshop<\/a><\/li>\n
  24. Purge\u00c2\u00a0all your gear<\/a>, and start your photography over again from scratch.<\/li>\n
  25. Delete all your photos from social media, and restart your feed<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I always love the new year\u00e2\u20ac\u201d it is a chance for us to get rid of our past baggage, and start on a new foot.<\/p>\n

    Let us refresh ourselves, replenish our creative supplies, and become the best versions of ourselves this year.<\/p>\n
