Chicago CONQUER COMPOSITION Street Photography Workshop (November 14-15th, 2020)

Update: Because of COVID-19, Chicago workshop has been rescheduled to November 14-15th, 2020.

Dear friend,

If you desire to CONQUER COMPOSITION and take your street photography to epic new heights, I invite you to my new Chicago CONQUER COMPOSITION Workshop (November 14-15th, 2020).

Why attend this workshop?

I have a deep passion for composition, and I want to impart all of my knowledge and learnings about street photography composition unto you. It is my great joy to share knowledge and information, and composition is one of the most elusive things in street photography (and photographic art in general).

This workshop is optimized to help you achieve your personal maximum as a photographer by helping you FOCUS your efforts on mastering the street photography composition techniques:

  1. Layers
  2. Depth
  3. Triangles
  4. Perspective
  5. Proximity
  6. Intimacy
  7. Emotion
  8. Dynamism
  9. Eye contact
  10. Vectors

Learn to see like a photographer-artist

ERIC KIM X ANNETTE KIM X BAUHAUS REMIX

I believe that you’re not a photographer– you’re a visual artist!

This means you must learn to see the world artistically– not just photographically. This workshop will help you open up your eyes, and to hone your “visual acuity” to see the world of

  1. Tones
  2. Shapes
  3. Forms
  4. Three-dimensionality
  5. Color
  6. Contrast (figure-to-ground)
  7. Elegance
  8. Beauty
  9. Simplicity
  10. Complexity

Learn from the masters

Henri Cartier-Bresson
Henri Cartier-Bresson Composition

In this workshop we will focus on composition lessons from the masters of street photography: Henri Cartier-Bresson, Josef Koudelka, W. Eugene Smith, and more.

Compositional tools

Furthermore, you will learn how to apply to your own street photography:

  1. The “golden section” (also known as the ‘golden rectangle’, ‘golden triangle’
  2. The “arabesque” (snaked and curved composition)
  3. The fibonacci spiral and “fractals”

All of these will be tools you can both directly apply to your street photography shooting and in selecting and choosing your best work.

Who is this workshop for?

Composition of the silhouette of the woman outlined in red.
Figure-to-ground composition

If you consider yourself an intermediate to advanced street photographer, this workshop will be ideal for you.

This workshop is focused on both the fundamentals of street photography composition to the advanced.

If you’re a beginner street photographer, this workshop is probably not for you. I would encourage you to instead attend my ‘Conquer Your Fears in Street Photography’ workshop. But if you’re willing to push yourself outside of your comfort zone and fast-track your progress in street photography, feel free to attend the workshop.

You got nothing to lose; everything to gain!

I am so confident you will gain so much from this workshop that I offer a 100% money-back guarantee. If you attend the workshop and don’t feel like you got your money’s worth, contact my manager Neil (neilta@gmail.com) and ask for a full refund or a credit to a future workshop.

Don’t miss your chance!

I don’t do workshops in Chicago or the midwest very often; don’t miss your chance. I see this as a great opportunity for you to discover a new beautiful city (Chicago as one of the most beautiful cities to practice your street photography composition) or discover the vibes of a “Great American City”.
