for Example, one thing I’ve been thinking a lot about is the difference between shooting videos of yourself from an outside perspective, versus a point of view perspective.
One thing I like about the point of view perspective, the POV concept is that with POV, you literally put others in your shoes.
For example, in the context of pornography, it looks like virtual reality, point of view POV pornography videos are very interesting to people. Why? You don’t want to see somebody else doing it, do you want to pretend like it is you!
So why does this matter?
The reason why I think this matters so much is that it looks like media is taking over.
for example, being here in Culver City, Los Angeles California… I see and predict that this is essentially the new epicenter for media, the new Hollywood.
For example, a lot of people I meet here I’ll work in the production industry, casting, etc. And as a consequence, it looks like a lot of these people what they are seeking is to keep pumping out new TV shows, online shows, streaming services shows, for Apple TV+, Netflix, Hulu, etc.
We have an insatiable appetite for media.
what is the final goal? Media. whether photos videos pictures etc.
even social media, which is essentially just Facebook – Instagram at this point— essentially the formula is simple:
I provide you the pipes and the infrastructure, you upload your videos photos and ideas… And I will monetize it by putting advertisements in between that which you publish.
even looking at the new GoPro, the new GoPro hero 12 and the max; it is actually super interesting that there’s a new function to create very dynamic vertical videos, considering that it looks like most people are just watching videos on their phone vertically.
don’t recall the first time I use Snapchat, and how confused I was because I could only shoot videos and photos vertically. As a Fara Pham so used to tilting it, but it looks like the new trend is everything is vertical.
even when I was in Vietnam, it looks like Samsung put out a really big new AK TV, which is just a vertical display.
Philosophical thoughts on media
first, there is some media which is good, like some music some shows, some ideas. For example, certain movies which has had a major impact in my life include the matrix, fight club, maybe the original Batman series by Christopher Nolan, the movie 300.
Bad media?
it looks like a lot of people use AirBuds noise canceling headphones etc. to just drown out their inner torment and sorrow. This is pretty sad.
my personal thought is that with media, maybe it should be social, or, it should intercept you with good ideas.
also education. For example a lot of the videos I share, the only reason I do it is because I have a passion for sharing information knowledge and ideas.
