Having fewer options will force you to become more creative and innovative.
If your goal is to become more innovative and creative, artificially restrict your options.
For example, I’ve discovered that having more pockets is actually worse. More pockets breed laziness, because you just stuffed things full, rather than thinking whether you really need it or not.
Also, when you’re packing for a trip or with backpacks, the smaller the better. It forces you to pare down and be more minimalist.
Even nowadays, I’m just using my iPhone not my iPad, and has forced me to become more innovative and focused.
To become more focused, restrict your options.

Also the reason why I really like powerlifting is that it is so simple. It restricts the major movements into just three: bench press, squad, and dead lift. Perhaps if we wanted to make it very very minimal, just deadlift is fine.
Or if you want to make things even more simple, just use one kettle bell. One very heavy kettle bell, 105 pounds.
Also with design, it seems to take more skill to figure out what to get rid of, than just adding new things. For example, every new generation of a product should actually have fewer features, and fewer distractions, rather than more features and more functions.
Even with life and lifestyle, I like the idea that the more advanced you become, the simpler and more streamlined your life becomes.
Make it smaller and thinner
My personal hope for the future iPhone. I am very grateful to have the iPhone mini, I like the idea that they could keep making it more thin and more slim.
The iPhone Pro seems to be a strange compromise. It is after Steve Jobs has died, and after Jony Ive has left and now that the nerves have taken over. It seems that the goal of Apple and the new iPhone is just make things bigger, more powerful, rather than thinner, more simple, and more air like.
In praise of slide flip-flops
A new discovery of mine is that I really like slide sandals, the flip-flops that you could just put on and off, very easily. In order to not get blisters, I just wear it with merino wool socks. This seems to be a very great innovation.

In praise of baseball hats
Lately I haven’t had the time to get a haircut, or have Cindy cut my hair. Therefore, instead of just using gel and styling my hair every single day, it seems that wearing a simple black baseball cap is a good way to keep my hair out of my face, and also not have to keep buying hair product. Also not having to worry about styling my hair. Therefore, it seems that baseball caps are a good way to simplify your life.

The upside of not having a baby carrier or a stroller
Funny enough, sometimes the most efficient thing for me to do is just grab Seneca with my arms, and just hold him in one arm, when I go out or just walk around the block. Also, it is a good arm workout.
