One theory; when certain things get invented, it simply displaces other goods, technologies and services? For example, when the elevator operator used to be a manual job, and then automatic elevator elevators got invented… Nobody bemoaned the loss of jobs of elevator operators. Same thing goes with horse and buggy operators. Or telephone operators!
