A simple path to success: open source everything. Better to figure out how to make money via other means, like education, teaching workshops, selling physical products, etc.

In the long term, open source will win. And will bring you success as well.

Or, just make money doing something else random. For example, how I probably made more money from cryptocurrency, and speculating in bitcoin than I ever did with my photography. Now that I am rich enough, I no longer need to optimize my life in my photography for money making.
