What is the future of physical spaces, in a world where virtual reality can simulate these physical spaces with more fidelity, customization, and ability to transform and transfigure ones environment at will?

Perhaps the future will be:

The rich and elite have the privilege to have access to “real life” nature, whereas the poor and working class are stuck to this virtual reality fantasy world.
