Treat YouTube Descriptions as Mini Blog Posts

A random entrepreneurial and YouTube SEO idea:

In the description part of your YouTube videos, add a lot of information (as if they are mini blog posts).

Ironically enough I make a lot of YouTube videos, but I never watch videos. In fact, I prefer reading transcripts over listening to interviews (reading is 100x faster than listening).

Why this might be a good idea:

First thought:

YouTube might eventually (if not already) starts scraping parts of the description page to better classify and rank your videos.

The more practical one:

As a human being, I prefer reading a lot of juicy and useful information in a YouTube video description, over just watching the videos.

Even with my own behavior … I scrub a lot of YouTube videos to find the information I need. I prefer to read, because I get access to the information far faster.
