When is internet anonymity good, and when is it bad?

1. Internet anonymity is good when it prevents you from getting killed or jailed indefinitely.
2. Internet anonymity is bad when people are just trolling for the sake of it, or they shield themselves from criticism of their own opinion.

In other words:

If it ain’t a life or death situation, don’t be anonymous online.
