It seems Homo sapiens have been around for around 500,000 years (a long time). Assuming an average human lived to be 50, that means 10,000 generations of humans have undergone to get us to where we are now.

Assuming Lindys law (Nassim Taleb) is accurate, then it means we got a high probability to exist at least another 500,000 years.

Thus the question —

What do we want to become 500,000 years from now? And for what end?

It seems a good idea for us humans to become space bound. 500,000 years on planet earth sounds boring. More fun and challenging to colonize other planets — Mars and beyond.
