Do you have the great satisfaction or dissatisfaction from life/existence?
Philosophers have grasped with the issue of ‘existence’ for so long. I think that most philosophers are just hyper-intelligent (and depressed) individuals who ultimately didn’t like existence — didn’t like to be alive. But they needed some sort of rational reason why they should keep on living and existing.
Do you like being alive?
A question:
Do you like living so much that you would want to live forever?
I do. I don’t desire to live forever, but I do love my life (and existence) so much that I would like to live it forever, on loop (the eternal return).
What do we dislike from existence?
I think many of us dislike pain, suffering, injustice, exhaustion (sleep deprivation), feelings of petty envy/jealousy, and feeling inadequate. The great impetus of Buddhism is to eradicate “all bad/negative feelings”. The impetus of Christianity is to impute meaning into our suffering and pain.
I love the pain!
But what if pain, suffering, hardship, and struggle is what made life MORE enjoyable, interesting, and exciting?
