How do You Know if You’re Progressing in Your Photography and Life?

Life is about growth and progress. But a question which often gnaws at the back of our head:

“Am I making progress in my photography, artistic innovation, and life?”

Why progress?

The etymology of the word ‘progress‘ is to literally walk forward.

In practical terms, to progress means to advance, to develop, and to go forth!

I know for myself, I am happiest when I have a sense that I am progressing, becoming stronger, and evolving. But how do we know to trust our guts and instincts, in terms of our own self-appraisal regarding our own self-development and growth?

Are you having fun?

My answer to the question is this:

You know if you’re progressing in your photography and life if you’re having fun!

Fun requires us to be challenged, and for us to put forth effort in order to overcome the obstacles and difficulties.

How to have more fun in photography

So friend– strive to have more fun in photography! Challenge yourself more!

Shoot with a wider-angle lens (21mm), or experiment new ways of approaching photography. Switch things up. Embrace randomness, chaos, and unpredictability in photography (experiment with HUJI CAM app for smartphone).

And above all:

NEVER STOP!
