I am not alike.

Why don’t I like to possess things which others posses?

For me I think it is a personal vanity thing. I pride myself deeply in the belief that I am unique and different from others. However once I encounter someone who owns the same thing I do, it offends me, because the thought occurs that I’m actually more similar to this person that I’d like. Also the realization that I’m more similar to others (consumerist) than being a true unique person. That’s why I like to have different shoes, clothes, a different lifestyle (minimalist/nomadic/philosophical/artistic), and I don’t like to engage in the basic activities of others (Netflix, watching TV shows, reading news, following politics, social media, or over-obsession about money).

I am not alike

I like to think that I’m different. It augments my personal courage and self confidence. It makes me feel that I have a great destiny ahead of me, and that I am "beyond basic".

Now, whether this is true or not is besides the point. Ultimately it doesn’t really matter that much to me how different I am from others. What is more important is for me to have the personal courage, strength, and audacity to pursue certain aims and goals which I personally find interesting, fun, and meaningful.

You are not alike

Thus the question to guide your life:

Do you desire to become MORE DIFFERENT or MORE SIMILAR to others?

Let this guide your life!
