I personally know Ken Walton, the founder of STREET FOTO SF, and I can say, he really cares about street photography.

The amount of work to put on a festival is an epic undertaking, and the curation of the guests, talkers, workshop leaders, is fantastic and top-notch.

1. Submitting to the contest as a good way to curate your own photographic portfolio (even if you don’t win/become a finalist).
2. Great workshop teachers: Push yourself outside of your comfort zone, and learn from the best.
