The Joy of Making Photo Galleries

I’ve been making more photo galleries on this blog (via WordPress) and I feel like a new creative door has been opened to me.

Why photo galleries?

First of all, why photo galleries?

To me, it is beneficial in many ways:

  1. The joy and fun of collaging your images together
  2. Your photos look more interesting as a set and a quiltwork of images, than just standing solo
  3. A photo gallery is a unique experience from just a single image

Furthermore, it allows you to keep up-to-speed with your photographic output. You can keep making new photos at a fast pace, because you can keep sharing and uploading new photos!

Fresh visual blood.

How to make photo sets/galleries

I personally like WordPress and blogging for photo sets. Super easy.

I am a big fan of uploading photos to your WordPress. It keeps your photos organized, and you can easily make galleries on the fly.

Enjoy looking at your own photos

We often get lost in social media streams of other people’s images. What if you got lost in your own images?

Can a single photograph fully-encapaulate your experiences?

Life is far too complex and interesting for a single photograph to encapsulate your experiences. Thus it seems the optimal strategy is to make sets of your images; multiple images to tell a certain story, or perhaps multiple images to better communicate your experiences.
