We cannot measure quality, but we can measure quantity.

The more you shoot, the better you will get.

The more hoops you shoot the better your three point percentage will go up.

The more you kick the ball, the higher your chance of a hat trick.

Math is on your side.

Imagine: if you shot a million photos, aren’t you bound to get at least 1 good shot that you’re proud of? Of course. It’s just mathematics.

Google Maps and Street View does this. It makes good photos, without thought.

Shoot more.

I’m not telling you to treat your camera like an AK47, and “spray and pray.”

But, I do recommend you to shoot more.

This ain’t complicated.

Photography is and should be simple. Whoever is trying to complicate photography is just trying to sell you something. Photography teachers try to teach you how to shoot fully manual, because they gave an information advantage over you.

Film photographers are snobby, because they show their exposure triangle prowess over you.

Leica shooters are snobby, because shooting manual with zone focusing is (kind of) hard.

I’m picky about what I decide to photograph. But when I want to photograph something, I will shoot it a lot. At least 70+ photos of the same scene.

A lot of photography is luck. The more you shoot the more you will be lucky.
