Withdraw in Order to Advance

Berkeley, 2015

I’ve become a bit of a hermit recently — spending less time on social media, the internet, and socializing.

But I feel that this has a greater purpose. The less distracted I am, the more productive I am. And the more productive I am, the more people I can help.

I’ve found personally, the more I withdraw, the more I am able to advance. The more I withdraw from superfluous activities, the more I can do productive, creative, and personally-meaningful work.

Practical ideas

What are some ways you can withdraw, in order to advance? Some ideas:

  1. Withdraw from social media, and advance in your photography projects
  2. Withdraw from superfluous social obligations, and spend more time at home working on your creative projects
  3. Withdraw from negative people, and advance your happiness
  4. Withdraw from distractions, and advance your focus
  5. Withdraw from superfluous duties, and advance your own interests

What else in life can you withdraw from, in order to advance?

Always,
Eric
