1x1.trans Travel Update: Shooting Street Photography in New York City (and heading to Venice!)

Street photography is phenomenal in NYC- it is truly the mecca here. Now heading off to Venice for my week-long workshop with Adam Marelli. Wish me a safe trip and thanks for everyone in NYC for showing me such a marvelous time 1x1.trans Travel Update: Shooting Street Photography in New York City (and heading to Venice!)

    Eric,

Sounds like you were busy. In the future can you post a heads up on events like the lectures/talks you attended? If you know of any of course. I haven’t found anything online like that. I would love to go and pick up some books from the actual photographers themselves.

    Cheers,

    C

I noticed that you said you were traveling with the Think Tank Retrospective 7… I remember you doing a review on the TT Retro 30. Which do you like better and why? Also, it was cool that you mentioned Zack Arias. He was one of my mentors in portrait photography back in the day. Just thought I’d share!

HEy Scott – I prefer the ThinkTank Retro 7 as it has an iPad slot and space for an 11” macbook air (which I travel with now). The TT Retro 30 is good if you need to carry more stuff. But I prefer to pack light!

And Zack is an awesome guy! Glad that he was one of your mentors too :)

About photography in US, I have seen a lot of sites reporting that if you are holding a camera on the street the police will treat you like a terrorist doing “homework”. Did you experienced this in NY?
