Gosh, they are all so great. My fav would have to be Dana’s work. She seems to have a great understanding of how street scenes will translate into black and white. LOVE IT! Please see some of my street photography at http://500px.com/wally

      Hi,

These are some wonderful examples of street photography. However I feel to give a more balanced view you should include works from many different parts of the world. There are some very unique sights and people to be seen in countries like India, China, Japan, the Middle East and other parts of the non-Western world.

One recent photographer I can think of who exemplifies my point is linked below. I especially love how each picture tells a story at multiple layers and levels and the unique perspective of the photographer shines though.

Rinzi Ruiz were my favourites, especially if they didn’t have much post-production done
on them. Whatever though, they look great!

    • Rinzi

      Thanks, Seth. Not much PP.

  • Shymoon

amazing photos!!! very well done !!!

Some really good photography. I have to say I’m kinda shocked to see the health state of some of the subjects. I guess it’s a true reflection of the society we live in and in that aspect these photos have achieved their goal.

These street photos are absolutely amazing. The thing I find most intriguing about street photographs, is the raw emotion that is captured in every snapshot. The look in the persons eye or the still shot of instant emotion is oddly enticing. I find people to be the most interesting subjects to photograph. What type of lens/camera do you suggest using for capturing the most quick and vivid subjects? I know Canon 5D and 7D cameras are extremely useful for photos such as these but do you have any other advice for novice photographers such as myself? I would love to have a portfolio that oozes street style. Also, do you know of any European street photographers? I know quite a little bit about photographers in the Los Angeles area but outside of the United States, I am unfamiliar.

My favorite of this series is the photograph of the elderly man in the black fedora by Rinzi Ruiz. The simplicity of the photo matched with every crease and line on the man’s face tells a story all its own.
